Salesforce is hiring a DevOps Engineer (MTS) to join its Tech and Product Engineering organization. This team builds and operates one of the world’s most advanced, large-scale distributed platforms—shipping hundreds of features daily to tens of millions of users across industries.
In this role, you’ll work at the heart of Salesforce’s cloud platform, ensuring systems are highly reliable, secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant. You’ll collaborate with multiple agile engineering teams, help operate microservices at scale, and play a key role in incident management, automation, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll work on:
- Operating and improving large-scale, cloud-hosted distributed systems
- Supporting microservices and N-tier web applications with high availability
- Monitoring services using logs, metrics, dashboards, SLOs, and SLAs
- Troubleshooting incidents and clearly communicating impact and resolution
- Automating infrastructure using modern DevOps and IaC practices
- Working closely with global engineering teams across time zones
- Improving system security, performance, scalability, and resiliency
- Contributing to a culture of reliability, inclusion, and technical excellence
Key Technical Skills:
DevOps Engineering, Linux System Administration, Distributed Systems, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Monitoring and Observability
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles
- Strong experience with Linux systems administration and Linux internals
- Experience building and supporting microservices and distributed systems
- Proficiency in one object-oriented language and one scripting language
- Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git, Jenkins, Spinnaker)
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, load balancing)
- Experience with configuration management and IaC tools (Terraform, Vault, Puppet)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and incident-handling skills
- Ability to work effectively with teams across different time zones
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience working in regulated environments (finance, healthcare, government)
- Strong AWS experience (EC2, EKS, S3, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Exposure to application security and authentication systems
- Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, OIDC, LDAP
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices, encryption, identity, and secrets management
- Experience with TLS, PKI, and x509 certificate management
